Back to School
Landon is taking 15 credits and since we work opposite shifts and hours, we won't be seeing a whole lot of each other unless it's Sunday or as we're going to bed. Monday we are both gone all day until 9, Tuesday morning is my long 11 hour clinical day so I will be going to bed as early as possible on Monday and who knows if I'll last until ten to see Landon when he comes home from work. Wednesday is another long day of school for both of us and then Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are all ten hour workdays for me and Landon will be just as busy with school and work on Thursday and Friday and then around 12 hours of work on Saturday. Then Sunday will be here, we'll spend time together, rejuvenate and do it all over again.
I know how important education is and how hard it would be to support a family with out it and that is why these next couple rough years of saying good morning and goodbye or hello and goodnight at the exact same time will pay off and be worth it. Plus it's the normal thing to do. right? Get married, go to school, be poor, live in a hot little apartment, function on not much sleep and regardless of everything else be totally in love. If so. we're on the right track. Now as I get more into the semester I'll have to keep reminding myself and having a good attitude about it.
This summer was full of great things, getting married, going on family vacations, camping, boating and all the little things. The school year is here and despite being busy I'm sure we'll have just as much fun. I can never find time to write memories down in my journal so I want to keep this blog updated with the big, little or fun things that happen in our life. I'm hoping the school year won't be too busy and that I'll find the time to post often. I guess we'll see how it goes.
Our Two Boating Trips
Landon and I don’t have too many days off together, but over the 24th of July we both we able to get away and go boating at Willard Bay. Danica and Jeremy came along with Jeremy’s family and then my family was there too. It was a lot of fun to spend the day with my family out on the lake since it’s been a couple of years since our boat has been working. I wish I would have all of my camera stuff found so I could put some pictures up, but everything is organized very well. In boxes of course. In a closet and I can hardly even find time to blog about anything so pictures to go along with out blog will just have to be put aside for somewhere around a year until I’m done with school.
Next set of our adventures was a "fun" five days at bear lake with all of Landon's family. I love going to Bear Lake and Landon and I were really looking forward to this trip, which is the main reason why we only went on a Honey Moon for the weekend is because I wanted to make sure I could get as much time as possible off from work and school both to go to the Cabin.
The weather ruined our Saturday at the Lake, it was cold, windy and rainy, but despite that it was still fun we celebrated Landon's birthday and I attempted to make his favorite, angel food cake, It didn't have the usual fluffy perfect look. Instead it was a little flat and dark, which confirmed my original idea that buying one would probably be easiest.
Sunday we were able to go to my cousin's homecoming in Brigham City and later on have family pictures with the Dalys. While all of this is going on from friday night until sunday Kevin and Emilie had one child recover from the flu and two more suffer from it. They still endured through family pictures. What troopers.
Now this much of the trip takes us to monday, which started out as a fun, warm, sunny day at the lake and ended up on a totally different note. I love the lake and call me crazy, but I really do love to get sunburned. It's part of the whole experience. However when this day was over i was regretting the sunburn. I'll do a step, by step through this night, minus the details that everyone could probably do with out.
First late afternoon poor Belle got sick on the boat, next was little Mckinley when we were on our way to the pool. We get back to the cabin to find out that Danica and Jeremy weren't feeling so great. Luckily dinner was taking forever to cook so at the point i had still not eaten. I go upstairs to our room because I start to feel sick to my stomach. I'm thinking to myself ok now Amy, just because four people in the last hour are sick doesn't mean that you are. I open the door to our room, look in the mirror and my upset stomach was confirmed as real and not mental. My face was white. Two seconds earlier I was really red and now really white. I knew i was getting "it". Later Landon came looking for me and brought me a bowl. I was determined that I wouldn't actually need it and then it happened in this order in what seemed like minutes Jeremy, Danica, Lyndi, Me, Kevin. All throwing up. At first I laughed thinking how funny that we all have this, but seriously this was a violent little bug. I have never had the flu like this before and I hate the flu. I cried after everytime I threw up, which I hope i grow out of. Luckily Landon did a better job taking care of me and being around the throw up then I thought he could and thankfully Emilie wasn't sick at this time because she ran from upstairs downstais, doing laundry and taking care of whoever, whenever. Finally the dreaded vomiting ended and I now needed to fall asleep, but with not only being sick, but the horrible sunburn that i had it was a bit difficult until Landon knowing me all too well put in a movie. I was out.
You'd think it ends here with 9 people getting sick, but during the night Greg got it and later on so did Landon. So now Tuesday morning in here and Kevin said it perfect. "Well Amy, welcome to the family." I'm not sure I'd call myself lucky to have an initiation like that. All day Tuesday was spent inside wondering if Landon would be able to make it through the car ride home since we both had to be to work the next day. At about 8:30 Landon finally decided he would be able to make it home, thus ending our trip to Bear Lake. All in all we did have fun and the trip was surely one to remember.
Just for the record Emilie and Candace both got it later on so there was only one adult and two babies who survived.
