They're either big or little. Getting married I thought would be a big change but besides grocery shopping, cooking and doing the dishes by hand it feels exactly like it did when we were dating. We just love to be with each other even if we're not doing anything but sitting in our hot little basement apartment. Getting married and the changes that come with that have been quite easy. The biggest change I think I've had to make since we got married is killing bugs and spiders.
Since the mountain is our backyard I should have figured that we would get lots of bugs, but I didn't think about that. I made the mistake of turning on the light when i got up during the night to use the bathroom and just as i did this i saw a nasty little earwig crawl under the fridge. Now I'm paranoid I'm going to step on a bug if I don't look before every step. Even worse was yesterday after Landon and I had both just worked for 10 hours and had finally gotten home. We just wanted to sit there and watch a little T.V. but then we heard this noise. I still want to believe that it was the wind making the trees blow and hit the sit of the house, but Landon had to say, I think there are mice. Sick, could it get worse? I could hardly deal with little bugs, but now i had to think about a mouse or giant rat running across my toes. So as tired as we were we went to home depot and bought a mouse trap and a sticky paper type thing to catch the bugs. Hope for my sake that we don't ever find a mouse in the trap, I'm still trying to convince Landon it was the trees.
Even with the bugs and possible mice, I love living here. We have our own washer and dryer, a nice tub, a fridge that we can usually keep somewhat full of food (so grateful for our jobs) and our own kitchen table and couches. I couldn't ask for a better place than this to call home. I love coming home from work and knowing that I'll see Landon. I even love cooking because no matter what it is Landon tells me "thanks, it tastes great." Everything about being married has been wonderful even the changes we've had to make. I'm so grateful for my wonderful husband and the home that we have.
